Hello Fellow IFGA Members,
At last years annual meeting, a
project was mentioned that would
create electronic versions of as
many of our old documents as we
could find and digitize them. So
far we have been able to do this
for the record files of our
annual meeting minutes that date
back to the 60s and BOOK ONE of
the GUPPY EXTRACTS. Much of this
work is very tedious and
requires using a scanner and an
OCR with extensive cross
referencing due to the poor
quality of the printing in the
books. Many of these articles
were published from copies of
mimeographed pages. The copies
we are working are my copies
which I purchased at one of the
annual meetings in the early
90s. However, these books are
poor in quality and this process
may not work for many of the
articles. Therefore, we are
requesting that anyone that has
originals or copies of EXTRACTS
TWO, THREE OR FOUR please get in
touch with me.
The purpose of making an
electronic version of these
articles is to republish many of
them in the monthly bulletins
and to add them to the IFGA
Library on the website as well
as ensure we will have these
documents for the future. Our
membership will directly benefit
from many of these older
articles written by many of the
top breeders from the past.
Copies of the covers for
EXTRACTS TWO & THREE are
attached as reference.
Please mention this to your club
members and anyone you think may
have these books and spread the
word. Also, if you have a club
newsletter, please include this
notice in your next edition.

Our awards chairperson advises
the program, written in
Microsoft Access, is having
problems with the year change
this time. Points will be posted
when the issue is corrected or a
new program is created in
Microsoft Excel.
NEW MEMBERSHIP IDs
After paying your membership you
will be advised to create your
own User Name and Password. After
completing that process the
system will check your payment
etc. and send you an email that
you are approved. If you
have paid your dues and have not
created a User Name and Password
please contact the Web Master or
Treasurer for instructions.
Be sure
your email address on your login
registration is the same you
gave PayPal when you paid your
membership fee.
