ACCOMMODATIONS
Please make all room reservations by September 16, 2010.  Be sure to say you are attending the Michigan Guppy Breeders event to receive the MGB room rates, and the Special Fish Card for food and beverage discounts at the hotel.  The Michigan Guppy Breeders room rates are $84.00 single - $84.00 double, plus tax, per night.  These rates are good one week before and after the event.  Make any specific room requests when making your reservation.  Handicap rooms are given on a first come first serve basis.  Complimentary airport shuttle service is provided.  See the hotel website for all the perks and amenities offered.   www.detroitmetropolitanhotel.com

SHIPPED-IN-ENTRIES
All shipped-in-entries must be received by 4:00 PM, Thursday, September 30, 2010, and include completed entry forms with exhibitor’s phone number.  Remember, you must send 2 copies of your show form along with your entries.  All entry fees must be prepaid.  Use the carrier’s ‘no signature required’ option when available.  Sufficient return shipping fare, bags and return labels must be included, if fish are to be returned.  Indicate whether or not you want fish that arrive dead, or die during the show, returned, on the entry form.  Return bags of minimum size 3” x 10” are required per IFGA rules.  Fish with insufficient return fare will be placed in the MGB Sunday Auction.  No C.O.D. shipments will be accepted.

RULES COVERING THE SHOW
1.
  All entries must be registered by 3:00 PM local time, Saturday, October 2, 2010.
2.
  Fish will be judged visually according to IFGA standards.  Uniform black background and available incandescent, fluorescent and natural lighting, will be used.
3.
  All entries must be born in the exhibitor’s tanks and raised by the exhibitor.
4.  Exhibitors will determine the class in which their entries will compete.  Assistance in classifications will be available, if needed, prior to entry registration.
5.
  Entries improperly classified will be disqualified and not judged.
6.
  Tanks and prepared water will be furnished.  No gravel, plants or decorative items are allowed.
7.
  All entry fees must be paid at registration.  No entry fees will be refunded after fish are benched.
8.
  No fish will be removed from the Show bench until 10:30 AM Sunday, and only by persons authorized by the Show Chairperson.  De-benched fish entry numbers will be checked by
      an MGB representative – no exceptions.  For de-benching needs other than stated here, exhibitor must contact the Show Chairperson after benching their fish.

9.
  Fish shall not be offered for sale in the Show room or any other public place associated with the hotel, except through the official MGB Sunday auction.
10.  Every precaution will be taken against the loss of fish; however, MGB and the IFGA are not responsible for any loss of fish. 

AUCTION
Exhibitors need to clearly indicate fish for auction on their entry forms at the time of registration.  Only exhibitors in the show may enter their fish in the auction.  It is preferred that females from the same strain are included with any males to be auctioned.  Males may be included with any females to be auctioned.  Non-exhibited fish, freshwater aquarium plants and dry goods may be entered in the auction with permission from the Show Chairperson.  Any non-exhibited fish for the auction need to be clearly marked with the breeder’s name, strain and age of fish.  Non-exhibited fish are limited to guppies of IFGA quality, cory catfish and plecos.  MGB will retain 50 percent of all floor sales and any non-auctioned fish.  There is a $1.00 opening bid.

ENTRY GROUPS
Single entries:
  to consist of 1 male or 1 female.
One female may be added to the male entry, but will not be judged.

Tank entries:
 to consist of 2 matched males.
One female may be added, but will not be judged.

Breeder males:
  to consist of 5 matched males.
Two females may be added, but will not be judged.
All colors will be judged as one class.

Breeder females:
  to consist of 3 matched females.
All colors will be judged as one class.

Junior Class:
  open to anyone 16 years of age or under at the start of the show season.
Novice class:
  open to anyone who has never won and IFGA Annual Award, or placed in the top two for the Novice Annual Award. 

ENTRY FEES
Single (male or female) - $2.00
Tank - $3.00
Breeder males or females - $4.00
Junior - $1.00 

AWARDS
First Place winners will receive a plaque
Second, Third and Fourth places will receive IFGA award cards
First Place Best of Show;  Delta, Female, and Tank, will receive acrylic awards
Second, Third and Fourth place Best of Show will receive award plates 

Exhibitors may decide if they want award plaques and/or award cards when entering the show, by marking their show form as such.  If you need any show forms, all forms are available in the Show Section of www.IFGA.org website.
